A background in the creative departments of design studios and advertising agencies, producing press and tv campaigns, has equipped Derek with an eclectic mix of stylistic influences. 

This is apparent in the techniques and processes he incorporates in his work and can be seen in the various galleries on display. Airbrushed images feature as do tv animation, children's books and strip cartoons. More recently he has produced fine art digital prints and laser etchings.

His inspirations are varied and include the myths of Ancient Egypt, the diversity of green spaces, urban decay and pop culture.

Derek lives in London and is married with two daughters.
